“Wishing Trees” to Premiere at AmDocs Festival
Wishing Trees will make its official premiere at the American Documentary and Animation Film Festival (AmDocs) this March in Palm Springs, CA. The film is a wordless animated short that asks: When a wish goes unanswered… what are we capable of becoming?
Through the intertwined lives of two trees and a young girl, Wishing Trees becomes a quiet meditation on love, loss, and renewal, inviting reflection on healing, memory, and the enduring resilience of the natural world. Blending animation with musical sensibilities, the film explores the unseen connections that bind us to nature and to one another.
Inspired in part by Peter Wohlleben’s book “The Hidden Life of Trees”, Wishing Trees is rooted in the idea that trees communicate, support one another, and form deep, invisible communities beneath our feet. Premiering at AmDocs, a festival known for innovative documentary and hybrid storytelling, this film offers audiences a poetic and audio/visual experience that celebrates connection, transformation, and the quiet wisdom of the natural world.
This premiere represents the culmination of months of creative development, collaboration, and experimentation. I’m deeply appreciative of everyone who supported the film along the way!
Screening dates and viewing details for the Wishing Trees premiere at AmDocs will be shared soon. Thank you for following this journey, and stay tuned for updates.
