Animation Magazine’s Feature interview “Bound” (Переплетені)
I’m honored to share that Animation Magazine has published a feature interview about my short film Bound (Переплетені), exploring its origins in Ukrainian folklore, the creative process behind its embroidered visual style, and the deeply personal journey of making the film during the early months of the war.
In the article, writer Ramin Zahed highlights Bound’s path from a childhood folk song to its reimagined love story, created through a close collaboration with my father and a small team of dedicated artists. We also talk about the tools and cultural influences that shaped the project, the unique challenges of independent filmmaking today, and the new work I’m bringing into the world, including Wishing Trees and my upcoming Ukrainian folklore mini-series.
I’m grateful for this thoughtful spotlight and excited to continue sharing these stories with audiences around the world.
