New Trailer Released: Sharing 'Table of the Flowers' — A Story Close to My Heart

I’m so excited to share the newly released trailer for Table of the Flowers, a documentary that I’ve had the privilege of supporting through Marinik Entertainment as part of its U.S. distribution journey. Directed by Ryuta Lee Hayashi and produced by Thomas Sanghyun Hong, the film is a meditative, visually stunning experience — and one that I feel honored to help bring to wider audiences.

While my day-to-day is usually focused on developing original animated work, I also collaborate with fellow filmmakers when a story truly speaks to me. This one did. As a distribution liaison, I’m currently helping Table of the Flowers connect with festivals, venues, and partners across the U.S.

The film (Japan, 2024, 82 min) follows two legendary Chinese chefs living in Japan: Chef Guochao Lee, a quiet and towering figure in Tokyo’s culinary world who was honored by the Emperor of Japan, and Chef Xinzhi Wei, a bold and passionate chef in Kyoto named one of Asia’s top culinary artists. Their journeys are filled with resilience, grace, and deep purpose.

What I love most is how the documentary blends food, philosophy, and cultural history. It offers more than just a peek inside a high-level kitchen — it invites us to reflect on migration, legacy, and the delicate passing down of knowledge through generations. In spirit, it reminds me of Jiro Dreams of Sushi, but the heart of this film is rooted in the intersection of cultures and quiet strength.

I hope you’ll take a moment to watch the trailer and get a feel for this very special film. We’ll be sharing more updates soon as it makes its way to festivals and screens around the U.S.

Thank you for supporting meaningful, independent storytelling.
