Finding Magic in Radio: My KSFS Interview About Creativity and Film making with Casey Crews

Masha Ellsworth and Casey Crews at KSFS Radio in San Francisco

There’s something timeless about radio. In a world filled with streaming and endless scrolling, radio still carries a unique magic — the intimacy of a voice speaking directly to you and the space it gives for stories to breathe. I recently had the pleasure of joining KSFS Radio for an interview about my journey as an independent filmmaker, and I was reminded of how natural and comfortable it feels to share the creative process through this medium.

In the conversation with Casey Crews, I opened up about the inspirations behind my short films Little t and Bound, the collaboration with international artists and musicians, and the balance between working at Pixar and producing independent projects. Radio gave me the freedom to talk honestly about silencing the inner critic, trusting creativity, and embracing the emotional heart of storytelling.

I’d love for you to hear the full interview and step into the world of indie animation with me.
